Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Articles

This section publishes original research articles in public health, family medicine, primary healthcare, epidemiology, health promotion, disease prevention, community health, and related fields. Submissions must present original work, follow the journal's author guidelines, and undergo peer review. Manuscripts should demonstrate scientific rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to public health and family medicine practice.

Letters to the Editor

This section provides a forum for concise scholarly correspondence concerning articles published in the journal, emerging public health issues, clinical observations, research findings, or matters of interest to the journal's readership. Letters should be evidence-based, constructive, and relevant to the scope of the journal.

Short Communications

This section publishes concise reports of significant research findings, preliminary results, methodological observations, or focused scholarly contributions that can be communicated effectively in a shorter format. Submissions should present clear objectives, appropriate methodology, relevant findings, and conclusions supported by the evidence.

Case Reports

This section publishes carefully documented case reports that provide clinically or scientifically relevant observations, unusual presentations, important diagnostic or management considerations, or lessons applicable to family medicine and primary health care. Authors should ensure appropriate patient confidentiality and obtain informed consent where required.

Review Articles

This section publishes systematic reviews, scoping reviews, narrative reviews, and other scholarly reviews that synthesize existing evidence on topics relevant to public health, family medicine, primary health care, and related health sciences. Review manuscripts should demonstrate a clear methodology, appropriate literature selection, critical appraisal where applicable, and a balanced interpretation of the available evidence.

Original Research

This section publishes original research that contributes new evidence or insights to public health, family medicine, primary health care, epidemiology, health promotion, disease prevention, community health, health systems, and related disciplines. Manuscripts should describe clearly defined research objectives, appropriate methods, results, and conclusions supported by the evidence.
